Father's Day

Much has happened since the last post. First of all....stupid moment of the week...I thought Sunday was Father's Day! So Sat. I got a cheap $20 grill, ribs, made a special dessert, and had Dallin make a card for Daddy (which he thoroughly enjoyed)...

And that night, found out that it is not for another 2 weeks. Why in the world did I think Father's Day was on the 6th? Oh well, I already had everything ready, so I woke up and made Cole french toast and bacon and all that jazz, Dallin gave him his card, and guess what? It was Father's Day for him. It shouldnt matter what day we celebrate it anyway, right? I wonder what I am going to do when real Fathers Day comes around.

Later that day we took a trip to DC with some friends. It was a blast. Very educational, and touching. They had the "I Have A Dream" speech playing on speakers in the very spot where it took place...it was an emotional moment.

notice the old picture and new picture are the same spot.

if you can see the tiny lettering on the wall, those are all names of people who died in the Vietnam War; a war that we fought to protect another country. It is so sad, but makes me proud at the same time. It amazes me how long the wall is, and how many people are on it.

Below: These are just random pictures of a security watchman who I thought was cool. He just looks legit, doesn't he? All spiffy like in the movies.

The Utahn...

The Texans..

Then when we got home, we had some friends over and fired up the new grill. After everyone left, Cole did his favorite thing in the world...relax and cuddle with Dally while watching the game.
All in all, I'd say it was a very good "Father's Day"
